Hi Group
Does anyone know how I can find out which network 07717990896 is on. The
number is used to send text messages to my mobile giving details of
available work and I am never quick enough on to mobile to ring an secure
the work. I was wondering if was on the same network as the sender I may get
messages quicker?
Thanks Iain

Original the number was on Vodafone...although if it has been ported to
another network there is no way to find out other than ringing it and
listening to voicemail greeting etc.

That won't tell you if it's an automated system used purely for SMS. For
example, our local radio station has an SMS system for listeners to send
in messages, if you try actually phoning it it doesn't respond.

Nor will it tell you if the user has recorded their own outgoing message.

Shouldn't the message centre details attached to the inbound message
give an idea, assuming the OP has a handset capable of displaying it.
