From: Drew on 9 Aug 2005 16:59 I have a hand full of computers ranging from Win2k sp4 to Windows XP SP1 that will not install any updates from WSUS. It seems to me that its like the user isnt being treated as a Administrator when i have enabled that feature via GP. Is there a minimum requirement for that to work that i might not be aware of? I am receiving the following. If anyone can assist i would greatly appreciate it. The following permissions are required: 1. Back up files and directories 2. Debug programs 3. Restore files and directories 4. Manage auditing and security log 5. Take ownership of files or other objects Note that other than local security policy, the setting can also be affected by domain policy. The problem could be with the Group Policy at the domain level. On the DC, if "Manage auditing and security log" has permissions for Domain Administrator only, remove it. From: Kailash on 24 Aug 2005 06:21 Hi! Anyone ever got an error 0x8007f004 when trying to update windows 2003 (SP1)? I gathered that it could be linked to the GPO but its happening when i'm logging on with the domain Administrator login. Any idea? Thanks Kailash
