err, the early 1080's and 1084's, that is.

I will refrain from posting plausable guesses on why the last 1084s are
missing features. You clearly are more authorative on the subject.

You are now in agreement with my unreliable memory. I can't
remember when I saw the TENEX ads recomending against the use of
1084s for C128 RGB displays. I remember their ads confirming what
I earlier read about the 1084 RGBI deficiency. It may be useful
to have the date when Commodore started relabeling the Thompson
monitors with the Commodore brands. With that info, the TENEX
ads recommending MAGNOVOX monitors for C128s could be located.

The Commodore 1084 aka Philips CM8833 is the best monitor ever seen,
IMHO.
It was sold remarked by Commodore and Amiga, but it's the same
monitor...
there are, also, 1080, 1081, 1084, 1085. The 1080 is the original Amiga
1000 monitor, the 1081 was also one of the first, and the 1084 and 1085
were sold with 8bits, Amigas, ecc ecc it was used also with some other
systems...

Actually, the first Amiga monitor was the 1070.
