From: v0x on 3 Jan 2006 08:20 After I power it up, it sometimes doesn't even make it to the logon screen before abruptly shutting off. Other times it'll stay on for a few minutes after loggin on. Is this related to this issue: http://www.apple.com/support/imac/repairextensionprogram/ The issue doesn't list this symptom, only "no power" Thanks!

It does sound like you're well on your way to that, though. In any case you should get in touch with Apple now. m. -- matt neuburg, phd = matt(a)tidbits.com, http://www.tidbits.com/matt/ Tiger - http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/tiger-customizing.html AppleScript - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0596005571 Read TidBITS! The capacitors fail by extruding some material which eventually falls to the underlying circuit board shorting out what ever is there.
