Anybody here having problems getting a 2.6.24.4 kernel to boot? mine gets
stuck for about on udevtrigger then gets stuck indefinitely with the
following message:

Using /etc/random-seed to initialize /dev/urandom.

I've tried adding and removing the hardware based random number generator
and it does nothing. I've tried 2.6.24.3 with same results, I'll try a few
others but I think I need the latest for some keyboard drivers that I need.

I've got an all-intel machine. (dual core) Core Duo (not core 2 duo though)

Let me get this straight

You had the machine installed and running Slackware version ??? running
Kernel version ???.???.??? and you are now trying to use newer kernel
versions 2.6.24.3 and 2.6.24.4 Now the computer seems to stop booting at

Using /etc/random-seed to initialize /dev/urandom

What version of Slackware did you install? Assumption would be 12
What version Kernel did you have running? A 2.4.x or a 2.6.x?

When you say you tried adding and removing the hardware based random
number generator. How did you do this? Did you change a Kernel option?

When you say I tried Kernel 2.6.24.4 what kernel settings did you use?
The same as for the previous kernel you had running?

yes, slackware 12.0 with default kernel 2.6.21.5-smp

Device Drivers - Character Devices - Hardware Random Number Generator Core
Support - Intel HW Random Number Generator Support

i tried module/module, modules/none, compiled/module, compiled/compiled for
the last 2 (they are nested)

I did try copying the .config from the default kernel and had the same
problem. This is the current setting in my current attempt

Did you run `make oldconfig` after copying the .config file? Does a
recompiled 2.6.21.5 boot?
