That's an article from the 2009 Annual Review. The relevant paper by
Allende Prieto and others seems to be from 2008:

I didn't read the full review article, but at first glance there
seems to be more of a gradual improvement in our knowledge of
abundances than any sudden change.

I'm sure we're all shocked -- shocked! -- that a press release could
be a bit over-dramatized.
