Issues building testgtk on Debian Lenny/Sid
I'm learning GtkAda at the moment and currently I'm looking to build testgtk. I've gotten through the compilation and binding stages, but now on link I get the following: gnatbind -aI/usr/share/ada/adainclude/gtkada2 -aO/usr/lib/adalib/ gtkada2 -I- -x /home/deadlyhead/temp/sources/GtkAda/testgtk/obj/ testgtk.al... 4 Sep 2008 04:46
Very confused by Ada tasking, can not explain the execution outcome.

Very confused by Ada tasking, can not explain the execution outcome.
Hi all, I am trying to simulate a concurrent resource allocator with Ada's task and protected type. The idea is simple: there are several resource available (total number is N=8), shared by user_thread. Each user first randomly generate 4 numbers ranged between 0 and 7, which would represent the resource need... 30 Aug 2008 10:07

and then... (a curiosity)
Dear.all, today while I was writing in my favorite language (PERL with C extensions, of course :-)))) I wondered why in Ada the "shortcut and" is "and then", while the simple "and" has not a shortcut behaviour. My curiosity stems from the fact that I am not able to envision any situation where the "non shortcut... 7 Sep 2008 12:41

Possible compiler bug with this simple program
The following is a program which emulates the structure of a binding to a bunch of C code (but there is no C code included here--it is all Ada). This structure exhibits a behavior which I think might be a compiler error but could be the result of incorrect declarations when running on certain machines. Specifica... 5 Sep 2008 23:58
