Hi,

I'm planning to buy a laptop computer. I need to choose between two
models, and they only differ in the processor. One of them has an AMD
Sempron Mobile 3600+ and the other has a Pentium Dual Core T2370 (1.73
GHz).

Can anyone tell me which one is better? It would be used to run
applications such as Autocad and 3D Studio.

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure the T2370 would be the better choice by a good margin. The
closest comparison I could find is on Tom's Hardware's Mobile CPU Charts
2007:

http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_mobile_2007.html?model1=700&model2=705&chart=268

It shows an Intel Core 2 Duo T2300 noticeably outperforming AMD's Turion X2
TL52 in 3D Studio Max 8. My guess would be the Turion series is a much
better processor than the Sempron, so there you go. Also, and maybe someone
else can clarify this, but did AMD ever make a mobile version of the
Sempron? If not, the T2370 will also offer a significant advantage from a
power consumption and battery life standpoint.

Hope this helps.
