Hi,

I only now got the oportunity to get back to this and check the
version of the ADSL firmware.

Looks like I'm running a pretty old version, despite the router is
brand new and manufactured in 11-Jan-08.

I'll try with 3.0.10 as it is the latest available on ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/access/800
to see how it goes.

Thanks

IOS version 12.4(6)T9 has been deferred by Cisco ( read junked)

Problem solved, thanks!
Maybe I'll upgrade the IOS later.
I just don't understand how a device assambled in Jan 08 was fitted
with a rather old software image.

Just so it may help other users that come across the same issue as me
this is what happened.

I was replacing the modem supplied with the Vodafone PT ADSL2+ Service
with a Cisco 877 but I was only getting
about half the bandwith I could get with the supplied modem.

The solution was to upgrade the DSL firmware to version 3.0.10

You can get the firmware at ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/access/800

Thanks Merv by the tips!

Out of curiosity, what are you getting now in terms of bandwidth ?

The max I could get was 7.6Mbps, (we have contracted 12Mbps) but the
wire loopback test done by the install technitian rated only 7.6 due
to distance (I was expecting this)

But altough the new firmware doubled the previous bandwith look's like
its not 100% yet
the DS field of show dsl int atm 0 reports 6135 only (90% capacity
used)

Also the contracted uplink should be 768Kbps and I'm getting 747

I can download from the ISP mirrors @~620KB/s

As you can see in the show dsl command,I've upgraded the IOS, which
comes with dsl 3.0.14 embeded expecting to get 100% but that didn't
help. I can live with 90% for now. But I might come back to this
latter.
