Every few minutes, my access program hangs for about 5 seconds.

I have a strong feeling that this is happening while the program is
saving my work in the background, but I can't understand the reason it
hangs.

Any leads I can pursue to fix this problem?

How can I disable to autosave feature of access while I am developing
my database?
