now when I activesync my iPaq 4700 with my Tosh laptop, all goes well except
when I check emails on the laptop, it keeps asking for username and password
and won't go any further until I unplug the iPaq

Any ideas as to why folks?

Thanks

Steve

Hi,

are you sure, that your e-mail provider accepts multiple connections ?
Mine doesn't and therefore I have to disconnect from the account in the Pocket Outlook menu,
when I want to use the desktop e-mail client.

A pocket pc not only syncronizes with the desktop e-mail client,
but also looks for himself for new e-mails through the internet connection provided by ActiveSync.

your Ipaq will only try and retrieve mail from whichever account is active
(or was active when the inbox was closed.) so if you get in the habit of
switching to a different account - even the outlook sync account, when
closing inbox on the PPC, then it "de-activates" your pop account and your
laptop will have access to that account. - the draw back is you have to go
in and switch back to that pop account and manually send/receive to get your
mail.
