From: bushmg on 17 Jun 2008 11:53 Have a new Tilt and am confused about how ActiveStink works when connected to my Windows 2000 desktop. Sometimes the contacts on the Tilt get overwritten, and sometimes the contacts on the desktop get overwritten. Is there a way I can set the details of the synchronization, i.e., which device has the newer info and what to do if there is a conflict? Pulling my hair out after having to re-enter contact info. Thanks! Baldy in Ft Worth
From: Sven on 17 Jun 2008 22:57 With a Tilt you are using AS4.something, so I don't think you get the "ASK" option. Understand that the PIM items sync both ways, whichever side was edited last gets sync'd to the other device. A Conflict is the exception to that, and only occurs if you have made a change in the SAME PIM item between syncs. That is, you changed Bob Johnson's fax number on the Tilt and his address on the PC, or something like that. In that case you have the option of setting which ALWAYS wins, PC or Mobile Device. Prior to AS4, you also had the option of having AS ask which is current, item by item. You always lost one change or the other in any case. If you make it a point to sync when you have done some editing on the device, or done some editing on the PC, you should rarely have a conflict come up. Note a Deletion takes precedence over anything else. Delete Bob Johnson on the Tilt and change his phone number on the PC, and no matter how Conflict Resolution is set, he is gone.
