From: rEd MoLLy on 22 Feb 2005 10:06 Hello, I am running WinXP Pro/Service Pack 2 with MS Outlook 2003 and ActiveSync 3.7. I have had my Asus MyPal 716 for over 6 months without a problem, until now. I have not installed any software recently, or made any changes to the computer. Out of no where, I no longer can sync calendar, contacts or tasks. I get an 'Attention Required' note, and when trying to resolve the items, 'Items on your device cannot be synchronized. Disconnect and reconnect your device....." Inbox will sync. I have checked ActiveSync settings on both the device and desktop (no server items checked), rebooted both machines, tried again with no luck. I have done a hard boot, reinstalled ActiveSync, checked settings, tried again with the same error message. I am pulling what I have left of my hair out. I depend on this device, and feel lost. Any help would be appreciated. Please respond via this newsgroup. Thanks, Jon
From: Amirov Zakhar on 22 Feb 2005 10:32 I have no WinXP though have A716 As i know all problems are because of firewall appeared in WinXP SP2. You should try to turn it off. If it will work turn on and try to turn it off just for ActiveSync. By the way, as owner of A716 I have small problem, ahm.... Relief letters "Asus" has.... fallen off ^_^ . Though now noone cant say that they were there. Do you have such problem? From: rEd MoLLy on 22 Feb 2005 13:36 The firewall settings did not change anything. I even reinstalled Office 2003 with no luck. I have not had a problem with the letters on the Asus. Thanks for your response. Anyone else? After spending most of the day working on this, I found out that there was a problem with my contacts folder. After the Office 2003 reinstallation, I did a detect and repair, reloaded my address book file (.pab file) and rebooted. Upon starting up again, I was greeted with a PIM box, allowing me to choose Outlook as the preferred method for Activesync. Everything is working fine, with the exception of a lost day's work. Thanks again, Jon Western Massachusetts USA
