I try to synchronize a smartphone (Qtek 9100) running Windows Mobile 5.0
with my Exchange Server 2003 SP2 through the local network (not Over The
Air).

Everything worked fine during one month, and now I can't synchronize with
Exchange any more; I keep on getting ActiveSync Error number 86000108. I am
using ActiveSync 4.1 on my Windows XP Pro computer.

I also had an error ActiveSync error number 80072efd , once.

I checked IIS and Exchange OMA on the server. I restarted the Exchange
server completely. Nothing significant in the Event Log of the server.

Any idea?

Help greatly appreciated.

Nicolas

Thanks.

I already checked on this list (that I keep in a safe place!).
It says something about Verisign and a digital certificate.
I am not using SSL to access the Exchange Server (for the being).

How do enable "verbose logging on the device "?

Regards

Nicolas

ActiveSync needs SSL - otherwise it won't connect. If you have
installed a self-signed certificate (ie one generated by Windows
Server), you need to install the root certificate onto the device.

Get SSL on your server for sure...the device might not like some SSL
providers, but if you uncheck 'require SSL' on the device, it'll still
encyrpt as long as your activesync server is set to require ssl. As far as
verbose logging, its under the advanced button when you go to configure the
active sync server. The 1st page is server name (with the require ssl check
box) then the 2nd page is username/pass/domain with an advanced button. Click
that and you'll see the logging level drop down box.
