From: goldentuba on 23 Apr 2008 02:53 Hey Alan, I just saw your post regarding the flash videos on your site-- I was actually just looking around to find out what a reasonable size is for flash video to be accessible online. If you don't mind, what type of file sizes are your videos? (roughly) I'm just trying to finish up a website video tour-- I've got an existing 2.3MB swf that I was going to bring into flash & still need to lay audio on top of. After I record the audio, I'm planning to bring in the swf & the audio file & export as flv. I'm a flash novice so I'm really just trying to make sure that I'm going to end up with something usable before I invest the time going down this road. Thanks for any advice you have! Jessica
From: goldentuba on 23 Apr 2008 03:29 Oh okay-- so an end-product video file that is 25-80MB streams fine for the average viewer... I just wanted to know what was reasonable and what was ridiculous so I could stay within the reasonable range :) My video is only 3 min long :) I just really don't know much at all about streaming video online & wasn't sure what kind of file size to aim for. thanks so much!
From: alanwallace4 on 23 Apr 2008 03:22 Hi, My video files range from 25mb to 80mb in size. I use and xml video player to stream the videos. Ive no idea what a maximum size would be. I try to keep them around the 20 minute mark. Hope this helps Alan
