I want to have one piece of text above and and one below a circle. It looks as though I need to create two semicircles as paths to create this effect but how do I create a semi circular path, please?

Drag out a Vector Ellipse (hold down the shift key while dragging for a
perfect circle), then cut it in half using the Vector Knife tool (again,
hold down the shift key while cutting to keep the cut perfectly horizontal).
You should be able to select either half and move them independently now.
