>Hello Akai MG14D lovers! Well there must be a couple of you out there that have attempted to reload the Akai MK20J tape cartridges instead of buying new ones. Does anyone actually know what brand and formula of magnetic tape is inside one of those cassettes? I would love to know as I have a whole pile of th... 29 Oct 2005 14:15
48 v phantom power to 9 v circuit
I have searched for a while, and all of the phantom power circuits I have found provide 48v from 9v or other batteries. I'd like to power an old active DI box I have which uses only a 9v battery from the 48v phanom power that will already be on pins 2 & 3 of the mic cable. Thanks! ... 1 Nov 2005 12:39
trying to pinpoint problem with Fostex B16 reel-to-reel
if I press [play] the take up reel side doesn't spin, if I help it along a bit it does ok for a few seconds then if it spins too fast, it bounces and starts spinning the wrong way for a second the tape goes slack then it speeds up to catch up and the tape is hanging so low at this point it snags on the speed calibr... 1 Nov 2005 12:39
Best Windows software for surround recording at 192k?
Could use some advice. I just ordered the Onyx 400F 10x10 firewire preamp/mixer/interface for my Shuttle XP daw. Marantz PMD-671-My Experience
Hi Everyone, I've seen a few posts asking about the Marantz PMD-671. I bought one last summer and thought I'd pass on my experience with it so far: I bought the 671 in June to replace my TEAC DA-P20 DAT that had died. Mine being one of the early ones, had an issue with transfering 24 bit files to my Mac. I ... 13 Oct 2005 10:52
Teac 2300s - AC power cable needed
I have an old 1974 Teac 2300s reel to reel tape recorder and somehow have lost the AC power cable. It uses a standard 2-prong blade AC connector, but the shell is really small and nothing I've found fits. I've only found one place online that sells the cable, but it was like $12 + shipping... Balanced, Unbalanced??
I'm putting together a DJ rig. The mixing board, crossover, and equalizer all offer the option of using Balanced (1/4" Plug), or Balanced (three pin DIN) connections. What's the difference between the two connections, other than the obvious different connectors? Thanks, -- Rich ... 17 Oct 2005 13:02
programming Reason drum tracks to play behind/ahead of the beat
Hi, I've programmed several tracks drum/synth backing tracks for my band using Reason 2.5. The problem is everything is DEAD ON the beat. Is there anyway to delay/advance parts in reason (such as delaying the snare slightly in funkier songs or moving the hi hats alittle off the beat, etc.) or do I have to use a di... 10 Oct 2005 10:49
