WTB: Royer tube mod kit (MA-2) Does anyone have a kit from David Royer / Mojave Audio, the MA-2 tube mic mod referenced in a Tape Op and I think a Recording article, though I don't have the issue or date of the article... This kit took a chinese mic (A MXL 2001) and gutted the PCBs. It was discontinued in May of this year. I know Mojave now s... 14 Oct 2005 14:09
Balanced, Unbalanced?? I'm putting together a DJ rig. The mixing board, crossover, and equalizer all offer the option of using Balanced (1/4" Plug), or Balanced (three pin DIN) connections. What's the difference between the two connections, other than the obvious different connectors? Thanks, -- Rich ... 17 Oct 2005 13:02
programming Reason drum tracks to play behind/ahead of the beat Hi, I've programmed several tracks drum/synth backing tracks for my band using Reason 2.5. The problem is everything is DEAD ON the beat. Is there anyway to delay/advance parts in reason (such as delaying the snare slightly in funkier songs or moving the hi hats alittle off the beat, etc.) or do I have to use a di... 10 Oct 2005 10:49
Shure SM98 and Beta98 differences? Anyone tried both? I recorded some drums using the SM98 at a friend's house on the beater side of the base drum (with a D112 on the front side) to get a really nice sound, and I wanted to get an SM98, but can't find one. So I thought if anyone tried both and can say the Beta98 is sonically related to the SM98... T... 7 Oct 2005 08:44

What Year Did Jazz Die I was just searching for some older topics and I ran across a few of the "what's the pinnacle year for rock and roll" and stuff like that and it got me to thinking.... Control 24 with a G5 I'm looking into getting a Pro Tools setup for my G5, and I'm leaning toward the Digidesign Control 24. If my understanding is correct, there are 16 mic pres but no A/D converters, so I'd have to get outboard converters. I could convert them to ADAT litepipe but that only carries 8 channels and the G5 has only one ... 4 Oct 2005 06:14
