From: Ferdinand on 9 Sep 2005 11:53 I will shortly be travelling to Australia (NSW & QLD), will I be able to use my UK Nokia 6100 over there? As I will be staying for a couple of months I have thought of buying an Australian P.A.Y.T. sim card as this will probably be less expensive to use. I would really appreciate any thoughts you may have on this, for example which networks etc? Thanks in advance for any replies.
From: EP on 9 Sep 2005 12:23 Depends on how many calls you want to make and receive from the UK and which network you are with. The phone will work no problem but be sure to check that roaming is activated. You can check how much calls will be by finding out which Australian networks your UK network has agreements with such as Telstra, Optus or Vodafone.
From: EP on 9 Sep 2005 12:26 If your UK phone is network locked you will need to get it unlocked before you go so you can use Australian sim.

Make sure your phone is unlocked. If its not unlocked your network can do it for a small fee or u can unlock it self at http://www.trycktill.com/eng/unlock_swe.asp note tho entering the wrong unlock code to many times with bar your phone. Think you get six chances. A Australia Red Vodafone Pre pay sim card will be your best bet. Best value for phoning back to the UK as well. Telstra covers a bit more of australia then Vodafone but both cover all the main towns and cities. I use a Australian Vodafone sim when every go over there. -- http://stores.ebay.co.uk/experimentalist-co-uk Australian, USA, UK Pay As You GO Sim Cards.
