You should not get any errors but no more than on or two errors may be OK. If you get errors it might be your RAM and not AW. You can get a free download here its only 66k:- http://www.memtest86.com/ Download the file, unzip, run the install BAT and insert a blank floppy, type A: on the DOS screen and press return. Re-Boot your PC with the Floppy in the A drive. It should boot from the A drive. Follow the on screen instructions and go to bed, check in the morning. Neill
From: sc_honeydo on 9 Jan 2008 18:16 No, no 3rd party XTras, just what came with AW. I closed the property panel when I shut down on the way out of work. I'll know in the morning if it crashes or not. Thanks for your help. [q]Originally posted by: Newsgroup User Rats. Well, along with my reply to PFTW, are you using any third-party XTras? Those are less likely to be the cause, though, because your piece seems to be crashing as soon as you start Authorware. If you can start the program before you load in a project, close that Property Panel immediately if it's open, then close Authorware. Then open it again, then your project... What happens? Erik
From: sc_honeydo on 9 Jan 2008 18:17 The RAM is fine. We've even swapped that out already to be sure. I can't use the downloaded software where I work as I'm in an area not connected to the internet and I'm not permitted to install those tools. LOL I do, but on my main machine, it's a mapped drive to my NAS-based backup folder. On another machine, it's an old Jazz drive that's probably not gonna be around much longer. When it goes, A: will likely be a 2gb thumb drive I've got sitting around...(will be interesting to see how long it lasts) Erik Amy Blankenship-Adobe Community Expert wrote: > Who has an A drive? -- Erik Lord http://www.capemedia.net Adobe Community Expert - Authorware http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.awaretips.net - samples, tips, products, faqs, and links! *Search the A'ware newsgroup archives* http://groups.google.com/group/macromedia.authorware *The Blankenship Caveat: Note that direct linking to http content through any Authorware icon will likely fail if a proxy server is present!* |
