From: edstern on 22 Jun 2005 03:30 I'm a big fan of many Authorware products and we're moving much more into self paced web trianing programs. Seems though that Mcaromedia hasn't done much to update Authorware in a few years. What do you as current users think? Have the come up with other products which are doing the same thing, if it still worth the investment? -- let me know your product feedback and reccomendations
From: ^}{yPeR^ on 22 Jun 2005 05:00 Have you used authorware to its full, doubt you have otherwise you wouldnt be saying those things. There is so many addons etc that you can get to make authorware more powerful. The only drawback in my point of view at the moment is that it doesnt support flash 7. Just my opinion CJ

The last update to Dreamweaver was around the same time. Macromedia's cycle for major updates is approximately 2 years ... For an LMS like (promo) inquisiq.com (/promo) we've used a variety of content created with products like Authorware, Flash, Captivate, Articulate's Presenter, and Trivatis' Lectora. I have been using Authorware for about 3 years to deveop courseware for work and church. I recently took 2 Flash online courses to help with integrating animation into Authorware and was supprised to learn that the instructor suggested I focus on Flash and move away from Authorware, as if to say, that Macromedia is not putting the effort into Authorware as it does for Flash. This concerns me because Authorware is the program that best develops my courseware and to think that it may be going by the way side is a problem. I sure hope there will be another upgrade soon to utilize the last Flash version. I believe Authorware is second to none in elearning deveopment!:Q |
