There are plenty of fine Mac CAD programs available. Check out www.versiontracker.com. Do a search under Mac OSX for CAD. You will find several good choices, including CADintosh, from the makers of Graphic Converter, which is an excellent program. StephenC

Virtual PC will let you (slowly) run Windows apps. If you have a reasonable budget Ashlar (www.ashlar.com) offers several very nice Mac-specific CAD systems. I've been using Vellum, now called Graphite, for close to fifteen years. The nicest thing is that I can be away from it for months, but still use it effectively without needing to "warm up" to the interface. Much, much simpler to use the AutoCad. bob prohaska > >

I agree; it's an excellent 2D CAD package (and I've used more than a few). Have you figured out how to get Vellum to run on a "contemporary" version of the OS? AFAIK, it needs a CP such as "SoftwareFPU" to run on a PowerPC, and that CP breaks every version past 9.0.4. So I'm really stuck -- 9.0.4 can't be the basis for Classic, and now I'm running OS X. So the big question is: How to run Vellum (1.0) under Classic? Isaac |
