I am an anarchist. I take the line that one should be permitted to express any opinion at all. You seem to be suggesting that some ideas should not be expressed - such as the idea that it's proper to suppress the racist scumbags of the BNP. Why is that? I also take the line that one should be able to take any action at all. Add them together, and proper freedom means being able to judge and take action against those whom you consider to be a menace to decency, amongst other things. So it's entirely consistent to promote freedom of expression whilst also fighting racist scumbags any way I like - which would include shouting them down if I saw 'em in public and I had a means of avoiding being beaten up for daring to raise objections to them - which is what these thugs do, isn't it? If the scum of the BNP are supposed to be permitted to have freedom, surely I should to? (Someone's going to mis-understand me: the freedom to say anything and do anything has a flipside. You've got to take full responsibility for the *consequences* of what you do - so don't be surprised if, after murdering someone, you go to bed one night and never wake up, for example.)
