From: Larc on 21 Apr 2008 16:28 I was shifting some DVD burners around over the weekend, and the plastic guide part on the SATA connector on one came off and stuck inside the plug at the end of the cable. All the pins are still in place, but of course there's no longer anything to hold the SATA cable on. Anybody had any experience repairing something like this or even replacing a SATA combination connector (data and power)? This particular burner is a Lite-On LH-20A1S that's only about three months old. It's a great burner and I'd hate to lose it. Thanks for any help. I may have to resort to that. I'm taking the burner in to a local computer shop tomorrow to see if they can replace the connector, which I'd prefer if it can be done. But I'll pick up a new angled SATA cable and "glue" it in if the connector can't be replaced. Thanks again. Larc - Change planet to earth to reply by email -

If you glue a cable to it...the device is still 100% usable and can even be moved to another machine... so no functionality is lost by simply having a permanently attached cable
