From: Zadig Galbaras on 23 Apr 2008 21:34 hi... I'm running Outlook 2007 and today I couldn't backup my PST-file because of an stubborn CRC error which keep popping up. So I tried to run SCANPST but same error. Then I downloaded an HDD tool from the manufacturer of the computer, but it didn't fix it either. It's a Pakard Bell Easynote with a 80GB Travelstar 4K120-80 HDD running Windows XP SP2 Norwegian edition. I know I'm on the wrong newsgroup, but can anyone send me in the right direction towards a solution? -- Regards Zadig Galbaras (nick) www.tresfjording.com -----

Time to discard and reconstruct. I expect the file contains a location that holds the CRC, which was calculated and installed when the file was last altered. This requires detailed knowledge, including the actual CRC polynomial. -- [mail]: Chuck F (cbfalconer at maineline dot net) [page]: <http://cbfalconer.home.att.net> Try the download section. ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com **

From: Zadig Galbaras on 24 Apr 2008 08:37 The Event viewer show an error-ID 7 Seems like at physical fault on the disk surface. I cannot backup my PST file at all! I remember back in the days of the early nineties when there where a bunch of software to extract data for partially damaged sectors. They where run from the DOS prompt. Is there a similar solution available today for NTFS formatted HDDs? -- Regards Zadig Galbaras (nick) www.tresfjording.com ----- "CBFalconer" <cbfalconer(a)yahoo.com> skrev i melding news:48101381.6B8BB700(a)yahoo.com... > Zadig Galbaras wrote: >> >> I'm running Outlook 2007 and today I couldn't backup my PST-file >> because of an stubborn CRC error which keep popping up.
