Drive Benchmarks
I ran analysis software of my drives (all SATA) and here's the numbers I got: Seq. write: 50.92MB/s Seq. read: 54.68MB/s Buf. write: 55.96MB/s Buf read: 99.62MB/s Random read: 25MB/s Do these numbers sound off? I'm pretty sure they're at least comparable to the IDE's that I replaced. I sure don't want to ... 23 Apr 2008 22:07
Reaper crashes (was: Took a Reaper Track to Nashville)
Odd stuff. Actually I haven't experienced too many actual 'crashes'. (I wish it would, then I could get a debug log.) Reaper just locks the machine up hard, big red switch is needed to get it going again. In the beginning this was when I tried to manipulate my Lynx ASIO driver settings, but not consistent. ... 24 Apr 2008 08:38
Asus Eee PC
Glennbo wrote: I got my Asus Eee PC today and wow!!! It's freeking amazing for being as tiny as it is. I've got it doing newsgroups, email, and web browsing of course, but I also have it playing live and recorded TV from my HTPC server, and it even runs Reaper. Here's a few pics I just snapped. Now I... 23 Apr 2008 14:07
One
Nice piece. I prefer the new version. Great idea on storing the chipmonk chatter on tracks in sonar. S "polymod" <polymod(a)optonline.net> wrote in message news:480cd34b$0$11603$607ed4bc(a)cv.net... http://www.sonicmusic.net/One.mp3 Okay, for those of... 22 Apr 2008 07:07

Can I use a usb logitect headset ( I use for skyping) to record... <shuttering at the thought> some vocals?.....even if they sound like Yoko Ono recovering from a bad drunken hangover?... <GGG> if so how... 21 Apr 2008 16:33
Song: One
http://www.sonicmusic.net/One.mp3 Okay, for those of you that have the time. I was searching for an older classical piece that I had recorded back in the 80's. I found it...but, the tape had a couple of other songs on it that I had completely forgotten about. The first ... 23 Apr 2008 14:07
The Quick and the Dead
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16822148316 It would appear if you get one that works it works good. you got a 50-50 chance. So i guess if you want one to work you better get two. I bought two of these.. I had to RMA one of 'em .. is this the mew standard of quality control? ... 21 Apr 2008 16:33
OT - Recording for local cable tv....
Hey, all! Please forgive the wa-a-ay off-topic post, but I'm not sure to whom I should turn. I have taken an interest in recording music for local cable/network stations, but I need lots more information. Does anyone on this list know of a good resource or news group that I might check out? All the books I ... 20 Apr 2008 22:45
Took a Reaper Track to Nashville
So I attended a pitch to publisher nite at NSAI in Nashville last week. This is an event where about ninety neurotic aspiring songwriters cram into the live room at the NSAI studio on Music Row and get to play a verse and a chorus for a big shot publisher. I took a demo I did in Reaper which I self produced. ... 21 Apr 2008 10:54
