From: freddy007 on 12 Jan 2010 22:48 I'm doing a small job for a client where I need to modify some vba code. When I try to change the code I get the message "you won't be able to save changes because you don't have exclusive access." It also comes up when I open a form in design mode. I made copies of both the front and back ends on my desktop and relinked them. Still get the error. I made a shortcut with the /excl flag. Still get the error. I tried opening from MS Access with the "open exclusive" dropdown box. Still get the error. I'm feeling bad because I can fix their vba error, but I can't figure out how to make it save. Access 2002 running on XP Any ideas for me? thanks

From: freddy007 on 12 Jan 2010 23:54 I did shift load it to get to the database window. I didn't try compacting it - why would that effect the exclusive access? > > Sorry if I'm asking the obvious: did you compact the databases? > Did you shift-load the app so AutoExec does not run? > > -Tom. > Microsoft Access MVP > > >I'm doing a small job for a client where I need to modify some vba > >code.
