I just changed my old router to a new one, but unfortunately now I cannot
enter the setup via http.
I type the ip (192.168.1.1) but IE is not able to get it, therefore no
window appears to fill in the login/pass.
I already did the setup for internet because the new router brought a
special program in the install CD. So, internet is working. I also made ping
for 192.168.1.1 and ...33 and it´s ok.
But now I cannot setup the wireless, NAT,...
Could anybody help?
I´m working with Xp sp2 and the new router is a Linksys WAG354G.

First of all thank you for spending time on my problem.

The device I mentioned is a "ADSL Home Gateway" and is really WAG354G-EU (it
has a silver box instead of a blue/black one, and it is quite new), seems to
be an european one. I also tried to check their international site but it´s
not listed there. However it can be found in several european linksys sites.
I downloaded the complete manual (i didn´t find it in the cd, only the quick
install) but didn´t find further info about my problem.

The problem seems to be (in my opinion) related to the old router, may be
some configuration it did before to the Xp.

This is an interesting new product -- combining a DSL modem and a wireless
router. What did you replace? Perhaps your old setup had configured your network
connection to use a fixed IP address on a different subnet. Click Start > Run and
type cmd <enter>. In the command window that opens, type ipconfig /all <enter>
[see page 66 of the WAG354G manual you downloaded]. What is the IP address
shown? What is the Default Gateway shown? What is shown for "DHCP Server"?

The default gateway and DHCP server should both be 192.168.1.1 Normally, if
things are working correctly, the IP address should be 192.168.1.100 (or 101, 102,
etc). If the first three sections of your IP address are not the same as the
first three sections of the default gateway address, you will not be able to
communicate with the router.

If the Default gateway address is in fact 192.168.1.1 and your IP address is not
192.168.1.x, make sure that you have set your network connections to obtain an IP
address automatically from the router's DHCP server. See http://tinyurl.com/3dskf
and follow steps 1 to 4 under the heading "TCP/IP Settings" ONLY (the rest of the
instructions on that page are specific to a particular university).

Now try ipconfig /all again. If your IP address is now192.168.1.x, you should be
able to use your browser to connect to the router's configuration pages at
192.168.1.1. If your IP address is something else, post back with the complete
results of ipconfig /all.
