From: serge on 24 Apr 2008 23:13 Running Win XP SP2, I vpn to a remote server using Win XP basic VPN connection and I RDP to a workstation using mstsc. As soon as I install Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.03.0530, without even first rebooting the computer when prompted after the Cisco VPN installation; i vpn to the remote server using Win XP vpn connection, mstsc connects to the workstation but leaves the screen black and in a matter of a few seconds disconnects the session. If I mstsc a local server, the session and the screen connects fine. So something is interferring with the VPN connection; i saw there was something called Deterministic Network Enhancer which i unchecked but still no luck. I uninstall Cisco VPN client but Win VPN and mstsc still do not work. I get the feeling Cisco VPN is replacing a win core dll or some other file and messing things up. If I do a system restore to bring my XP to a state right before i installed Cisco VPN, regular win xpn and mstsc works fine. Does someone have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it? Thank you
