Hello,
I have a chance to by a Commodore Cd 1000 w/remote. Are these rare?
Can't seem to find much about them on the net.

CD 1000 is another name for the Commodore/Amiga CDTV - have a search
for CDTV and you'll find lots of info.

It's not rare but not exactly commonplace.

Basically it is an Amiga A500 and a 1X CDROM stuffed into a black
consumer style VCR type box with IR remote control. The CDROM drive
needs CDs to be in a caddy.

I agree...

I have been working 3 months in a waste/recycling plant, and I have seen
tons of commodore equipment going through...
I saw a single Amiga CDTV, a few C16s, two plus/4, a single VIC20 and tons
of 64's and 128's.

This is in denmark/europe...
So here it is rare, but no more rare than people will throw it out ;)

That is horrific. I'm going to have nightmares now thinking about
conveyor belts with irreplacable Commodore computers going into giant
grinding machines or being meltded down.

Yeah, I'm having nightmares tooo! AS to the CD1000, is 75.00 too much
to pay for it?
