From: personable85 on 27 Jun 2008 14:50 Hi, Where can I get Commodore ringtones for my Virgin Mobile phone? I am interested in a ringtone that captures the sound of a Commodore PET when it is first turned on. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Mark

(if you own a PET ) I don't have a PET, but many here do, maybe they can record it for you.... if they have a mic ( also a lot of web cams have a mic built into them) by just setting it next to PET. Windoze "sound recorder" saves files as a WAV on most machine's, but there are TONS of freeware conversion programs to convert the WAV to an MP3. Although Im not a Verison user, but it probably uses MP3's (possibly a midi >MID< file ) but the conversion is again easy. How you actually can download it to your phone maybe the biggest stumbling block. If I had a Pet, I'd do the deed for you, but that was one C= machine, I never owned. Rick P.S. You also might want to use some of the HUGE selection of "ready to go" midi files at the link below (instead).... there is some really good sheet there, and converting some of these classic soundz to MP3 is a breeze <wink> http://www.vgmusic.com/music/computer/commodore/commodore/index-classic.html

(if you own a PET ) the VICE emulator does a good PET 40xx/80xx jingle, without having to have an actual PET to record it from. Larry
