I would like to create a Gallery Page on our web site to display lots of images
of our sports club members doing sport.

Ideally it would be lots of thumbnails which can be selected to view in a
larger box on the page.

Can anyone give me an idiot's guide to doing this. I don't use CSS, just HTML
and images (jpg usually)

thanks in advance

You will need to use the batch command and select all of the photos that you
want to use. Set a destination path and set the thumbnail size (target size)
When the batch completes you can begin placing thumbnails on a page. You will
also need to establish a link from those thumbs or you can designate a part of
the page for a swap using slices. It's alot of work. Alternatively, you can
use Create Slideshow in the commands menu if its primarily a photo gallery.

In addition to the above-mentioned batch process, it might also be a good idea
to protect your images with a watermark, especially if you plan to display your
images in a private website gallery.

This is easily accomplished in Fireworks -

l=395. It shows you how to teach Fireworks to automatically scale down your
images and apply a watermark on them, using only your Fireworks History panel.

Along with the Create Slideshow command in Fw, there is the Adobe Media Gallery
script available for Bridge here -

similar results.
