Hi guys!

Despite my previous post, I didn't buy the Lenovo T61p -- due to the
unexpected "downsizing" of my job. I am now looking to replace my
Latitude D600 with a D620 purchased from the outlet or DFS (Dell
Financial Services).

I've noticed they come with several HD options, 80 gb EIDE, 100 gb
SATA, etc. It appears that the motherboard is the same. My question
is, are they interchangeable? I would like to get the cheapest
(smallest) now, and upgrade later. More specifically, will I be able
to replace later with a larger, faster one -- probably SATA?

As always, TIA.

Lisa,

Since you're considering a (refurbed) Latitude from the Outlet, here's a 15%
off coupon code good through April 30th (for you or anyone else who might
use it): 6$TJR4MM97Q5W4

And, yes, you can upgrade to a much larger SATA hard disk later if you'd
like.

Thanks, Stew,

I appreciate the coupon. I am also considering purchasing one from
DFS that still has some warranty left.

be aware that the dfs machines are not clean like refurbished units. they
may have worn keyboards, scratches and other things that make them look and
feel like a used computer vs the refurbished that really look like new. but
having siad that, i rarely find either dfs or the outlet to be much if any
better than just buying new if you catch a good sale. perhaps with stew's
coupon code you will luck out and get a good value from the outlet. but as
a reality check look at what a new machine like the lattitude d630 costs
first...
fully loaded latitude d630 with 3 year warranty for $879 plus tax

fully loaded latitude d530 with 1 year warranty for $699 plus tax
