From: Albert W. Howard on 2 Apr 2006 00:01 Running Mandriva 2006 i586 Just got a Printer, Brother DCP-115C and cannot get it to print. Scanner is working. Have tried drivers from Brother (brscan2-0.0.2-1.i386.rpm, MFC-210C brmfc-src-10.0.-1.i386.tar.gz) to no avail. Has anyone had any success with this printer? Please advise TIA Albert

We recommend using the MFC-210C driver in the meantime. * Note to users of product with "*" mark: In some distributions, LPD needs to be installed before installing the CUPS wrapper driver. If you have a problem installing the driver, create a temporary symbolic link to link the file "/etc/init.d/cups" or "/etc/init.d/cupsys" to "/etc/init.d/lpd". ln -s /etc/init.d/cups /etc/init.d/lpd ln -s /etc/init.d/cupsys /etc/init.d/lpd After the installation, remove the symbolic link. Unless you can get the MFC210 driver to work, you may be temporarily out of luck until they develop the cups driver for the DCP-115.
