Read the release notes for the update. If there is something that it
fixes that you need, consider the update. If not, leave it alone. If it
goes wrong flashing the BIOS is one thing that can easily turn your PC
into a doorstop.... Only update if it is absolutely necessary.

I was corrected once when I said the same thing about flashing a bios.
I checked it out after being corrected and they were right in the
"modern" bios flashes. But I still tend to worry about it <g>. But
I agree with you that there is no need to flash a bios if you don't
get any value out of doing so. Not worth any risk (if any) and just
a waste of time.

OT: back on line after going thru hurricane Ike near Houston, Texas
last nite. Very strong winds but I lucked out with almost no damage.
