BiQuad frequency response for visualisation Hi there, I'm trying to make a simple parametrical equalizer using the Audio-eq-cookbook (like everyone else :-)). I use it on audio signal and need to visualise resulting frequency response. E.g. peak filter should be painted as a hat-style curve. The problem is, that when I use the attached transport function H(... 1 Jul 2008 13:21
soft output viterbi Another example is for instance is the GSM system. Received GMSK symbols are first equalized using a Viterbi equalizer, which is usually implemented as a SOVA, such that it can be followed by a soft input Viterbi algorithm for the actual channel decoding. Cheers, Niko ... 30 Jun 2008 09:37
Question regarding Concatenated Codes on OFDM I am simulating an OFDM system and want to employ concatenated codes with different modulation schemes. I have a few queries about it. 1. RS code works on frame-by-frame basis like for a shortened code RS(32,24) on byte boundary. In this case, I need a minimum of 24*8 uncoded data bits. If i work on this boundary, the... 30 Jun 2008 07:34
noise in bandpass system Hello All I have designed a bandpass signal at carrier frequency of 12KHz and with bandwidth of 8KHz. This signal is convolutionaly encoded with rate 1/2 encoder and QPSK modulation. I do not know how to add noise to this signal. i.e. y=x+sigma*randn(size(x)); where x is my bandpass signal, which is real.... 1 Jul 2008 15:25
convolutional code All, i build two simulink models to watch the benifit of convolutional code. The first one is: Burnoulli bits ----- 16QAM ------ modulation ---- AWGN ----- demodulation. The parameter of 16QAM modulation module is: 'normalizztion method'= average power and 'average power'=1 watt. The parameter of the AWGN... 30 Jun 2008 02:28
scaling fixed point numbers Hai, For my FIR design i am using 16-bit signed integer coefficients from FDAtool instead of fixed point representation i.e, I am scaling the values as 0.05937194824218753891 * 65536 =3891.. whether the above scaling will alter the magnitude and phase response i.e.,cutoff frequency, passband and stopband... 30 Jun 2008 02:28

Implementing FFT on Microchip DSPIC Hi all. Let me introduce my problem to you, hoping you can give me some useful directions to solve it. I'm developing my bachelor thesis on a smart THD sensor for a power distribution line but I'm just new to digital signal processing and I don't know much about implementing FFTs (or, better, DFTs) in c language. ... 29 Jun 2008 19:19
Need help about node synchronisation for convolutional decoder (with puncturing eventually) First of all, I wish to indicate two points: - I'm new on this forum. So, if I made some mistakes about forum rules, precise it. - I apologize for my english ... To simplify the subject, in the following, I'll only speak about codec with rate 1/2. The aim is to find a method to synchronize decoder wit... 29 Jun 2008 10:06
