Software Recommendations
I'm looking for DSP software that can interface directly with the PC's soundcard and perform real-time processing on as many as 8 inputs/ outputs. Ideally I'm trying to find software that allows drag-and-drop layout and signal-routing control, as well as being able to insert "custom" blocks such as FIR filters o... 9 Jul 2008 16:48
Reflection coefficients from impulse response
Suppose that I have a data set comprised of a time-domain voltage trace from a geophone. At a certain distance x_d away from the geophone, an explosion occurs, and the impulse response of the layered earth is captured by the geophone. I only have one geophone, and only one explosion occurs. How would I calculate... 9 Jul 2008 23:59
Phase difference of signal pair
I have 4 underwater microphones in a fixed diamond array listening for a high frequency sinusoidal ping, and have 3 dsPIC's, each monitoring a pair of the signals. The arrangement of the microphones guarantees that the signals time difference will never exceed half a wavelength, so I think that finding the phase d... 9 Jul 2008 21:57
GMR2+ CCS configuration parameters question
Hi, I am having trouble figuring out the usage of the S-BCCH power reference parameter broadcasted in the CCS configuration parameters information element in GMR2+. It "specifies the power of the S-BCCH with respect to a nominal TCH channel". However, I can't find anywhere else in the specs that reference to this pa... 8 Jul 2008 14:07
Doppler effect
Hello People In underwater communications, assume there is one direct path and one surface reflected path. And the receiver is moving at 0.1 m/s (either towards or away from transmitter). My question is: do both the paths have same doppler effect? Your guidance will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Chint... 11 Jul 2008 14:03
fixed point scaling
hello friends, I am a beginer in DSP programing, i want to know how scaling is performed in FIXED POINT ARITHMATIC? Is it same like Encoding and decoding of value? how multiplication result is obtain correctly or with what precision (suppose we dont have extended precision accumulators) ? Thanks in adv... 8 Jul 2008 12:04
writing to flash memory
Hi, I have written a small piece of code to write data to flash. I am using a BF534 processor. The flash is connected to the bank 0 of the BF534 Here is the piece of code : ----------------------------start of code ---------------------------- #define START_ADDR 0x20000000 #define FLASH_555 0x0AAA //these 2 value... 8 Jul 2008 12:04

your intuition: 16MHz MIPS for tri-band SSB Demod at 44.1 KHz???
Hi! to expand on the subject briefly: I'm experimenting with mechanical television a la Baird televisor. I think it would be neat to encode three channels of color (YIQ) into one audio channel. I would like to use a fairly cheap microcontroller for demodulation because I have lots of experience with it (Atmel ... 8 Jul 2008 12:04
Inverse Discrete Wavelet transform
Below is a reply by Jani Huhtanen in another old thread... Below is a diagram of the synthesis part of the wavelet transform (one level): y0[n]--UpSample--x0[n]--G0(z)--z0[n]-- + ---> z[n] y1[n]--UpSample--x1[n]--G1(z)--z1[n]-- Say that y0[n] and y1[n] are define... 7 Jul 2008 12:29
