From: jl_peque on 5 Dec 2007 18:48 Hi! I've never used director but one of my clients asked me if I could upload a movie to his website, the file he gave me was a dxr. Locally it works like a normal link but the file size is around 39 MB so I can't do that on a web server, please help! Thank you Jessie G.
From: Sean Wilson on 5 Dec 2007 20:11 You need the original .dir file and to publish (compress) it to .dcr - then check the filesize.
From: jl_peque on 6 Dec 2007 00:35 Thanks Sean, but the problem is that I don't have the .dir file, I only have the .dxr, is it possible in any other way. Thanks Jessie G.

Hu Jessie, There is a way to restore a DIR from a DXR but is not 100% in that scripts will not be restored. It may work OK to allow you to compress the file to a DCR. Email me offlist and I can guide you through the process (d.utian(a)unsw.edu.au). regards Dean Director Lecturer / Consultant / Director Enthusiast http://www.fbe.unsw.edu.au/learning/director http://www.multimediacreative.com.au email: d.utian(a)unsw.edu.au
