Hi!
I've never used director but one of my clients asked me if I could upload a
movie to his website, the file he gave me was a dxr. Locally it works like a
normal link but the file size is around 39 MB so I can't do that on a web
server, please help!

Thank you
Jessie G.

You need the original .dir file and to publish (compress) it to .dcr -
then check the filesize.

Thanks Sean, but the problem is that I don't have the .dir file, I only have the .dxr, is it possible in any other way.

Thanks

Hu Jessie,

There is a way to restore a DIR from a DXR but is not 100% in that scripts will not be restored. It may work OK to allow
you to compress the file to a DCR. Email me offlist and I can guide you through the process (d.utian(a)unsw.edu.au).
