On the few amps that it works on it will only net a maximum of 1dB
more system output which would be considered negligible. That said, it
couldn't hurt. It will only work on older school amps using a single
power supply for both amp channels. It won't help on light amps with
SMPS.

Doing that is an old Bang & Olufsen ploy, I think it was the 5000 series
they did it in. But remember the dB math ... and the added system complexity
if you do not have an extra connector panel you can use to make it
transparent to the roadie.

I read a test of this theory and it works, though not significantly, i.e.
nothing that anybody but the most discerning audiophile would be able to
distinguish.
