On the few amps that it works on it will only net a maximum of 1dB more system output which would be considered negligible. That said, it couldn't hurt. It will only work on older school amps using a single power supply for both amp channels. It won't help on light amps with SMPS. Rupert

Doing that is an old Bang & Olufsen ploy, I think it was the 5000 series they did it in. I read a test of this theory and it works, though not significantly, i.e. nothing that anybody but the most discerning audiophile would be able to distinguish.
