From: Juan Daza on 1 Jul 2006 20:41 Friends @ m.d.basics Can't delay anymore the decision deadline: I need to acquire an xtra (I already tried some lingo to make it work but the amount of date requires another approach) for a Database project and the options haver narrowed to: 1. Arca Database Xtra http://xtras.tabuleiro.com/products/arca/index.tdb 2. INM VizionDB - Desktop http://www.inm.com/products/viziondb/desktop/default.htm I have tried them both and there are some big differences. But it'll be of great help to have some input from users. All this reviews that I get seem a bit biased. So, since the difference between those two also means an investment and a huge difference in price anything you can share would be appreciated. Hope to read soon from the forum. Juan

The criteria you used to narrow down your choices will probably have some bearing on any recommendations other readers might provide, so you might consider posting some of your requirements.

I did look it over but was more encouraged to get an Xtra that uses Firebird or SQL Lite instead of proprietary... It's easier to find help and programmers. But, thanks for the comment: I gave a deeper look on Valentina... Still in the dark, though. Juan

So what about Valentin Schmidt's free(!) SQLite xtra? <http://dasdeck.de/staff/valentin/xtras/sqlite/> > Still in the dark, though.
