From: Markus Strobl on 26 Jun 2008 04:36 Hi folks, i guess the subject says it all: is it possible to develop Reporting Services 2005 with Visual Studio 2008? When you install Business Intelligence Extensions coming with SqlServer 2005 it plugs itself in Visual Studio 2005. Is there a way to use these extensions/project types from Visual Studio 2008 as well? Thanks a lot for any help!! Best Wishes, Markus

From: Bruce L-C [MVP] on 26 Jun 2008 11:03 If there is no 2005 present the RS 2005 install it's own version of VS to host the report designer. As long as you have disk space you are not out anything by the fact that the Report Designer does not integrate with RS 2008. If you are using the Report Viewer control, the 2008 report viewer control works with RS 2005 if you are using server mode. -- Bruce Loehle-Conger MVP SQL Server Reporting Services "Markus Strobl" <m.stroblSTOPSPAM(a)racon-linzSTOPSPAM.at> wrote in message news:%23RQayF41IHA.552(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > ok, i already found the (awful) answer to my question on my own: > > http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2473242&SiteID=1 > > cheers > > markus > > > "Markus Strobl" <m.stroblSTOPSPAM(a)racon-linzSTOPSPAM.at> schrieb im > Newsbeitrag news:OdWKLz21IHA.5512(a)TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >> Hi folks, >> >> i guess the subject says it all: is it possible to develop Reporting >> Services 2005 with Visual Studio 2008? >> >> When you install Business Intelligence Extensions coming with SqlServer >> 2005 it plugs itself in Visual Studio 2005.
