From: ISUMaddog on 27 May 2008 23:28 Starting about a month ago, I can no longer connect to my ISP at will with my modem. I started getting the response from my modem dialog, "Connected to remote computer", "Connected to remote computer" (yes twice), "Unable to establish a connection". After a re-boot of my system with a "Z" in the initialization settings for my modem I can connect ONCE. After that, I must re-boot to connect again. This seemed to start with a windows update about a month ago. I know because I manually choose the updates due to my S L O W connection. My first step was to update my drivers for the modem which I did. No success. I installed a new modem and had success connecting about 3 times in a row but the next day I tried, I got the same error shown above. Now both modems require the "Z" command in the initialization to get them to connect. Help!
