From: Garry Freemyer on 2 Jun 2007 00:09 I have done research on this problem, scanned faq's, googled and found no info on this issue. I have downloaded the dvd iso for Fedora 7 via bittorent and burned a cd and verified it. I insert the DvD, boot it, says "Loading fw-ohci driver" and then asks me for the language I'm using. Then it loads that above driver again and then asks me about my keyboard. Then it asks me what media I am using and the top two choices are Local CDROM and Local Hard Drive. The install guide says to choose CDROM and I do that. It then displays "Loading fw-ohci driver" for about 30 seconds and then gives the following message... "The Fedora CD was not found in any of your CDROM drives. Please Insert the Fedora CD and Press OK to Retry." I stumped the Fedora IRC on Freenode. I asked in IRC if this DVD is or is not the only media I need to install the system and they said it was, but they had no idea why I'm getting this error. I'm stuck, and all I can say is "Help?!"

You probably have an IDE/SATA controller that the kernel can't deal with. Sometimes you can get around it with some kernel options, like "acpi=off" etc. Look for your specific hardware in Google/Yahoo! searches. Chances are that you're not the first to have trouble with your hardware.
From: aaron.paxson on 5 Jun 2007 18:15 I, too, am having this problem. The DVD boots fine, and carries me through the initial installation steps. However, the installer then asks me to choose the installation media. When I choose "Local CDROM", it searches the media, and then comes back "The Fedora CD was not found in any of your CDROM drives". Adding the acpi=off option during the installer menu (by pressing tab) did not seem to help. This is on an IBM Thinkpad T42 laptop. Has anyone else had this issue? Guys, I've had exactly the same problem and the problem was that ISO image I downloaded was not consistent. Check the SHA1 hash whether it matches. Once I downloaded it again(instead of http I used ftp) and the SHA1 hash is correct, installation goes well without problem Cheers, Tomas aaron.pax...(a)gmail.com napsal: > I, too, am having this problem. > > The DVD boots fine, and carries me through the initial installation > steps.
