Waterproof = Poor image
Following a good pointer from places such as this group I used the Compare features page at DP Review to check out waterproof P&S models. Some good looking specs... with one exception: their user reviews ALL suggested poor image quality. Does adding that waterproof seal automatically mean manufacturers stop caring ... 4 May 2010 20:12

Dearth of new camera releases
Dear camera makers; reducing releases of cameras in a recession makes about as much sense as cutting back advertising to save money. I am not able to process the .orf files in iPhoto or in Aperture 3. It is my impression that what I need to process... 4 May 2010 08:59

For everyday photos I would pre... 9 May 2010 18:43
