From: Charliec on 29 Oct 2008 16:56 Anyone running Vista on their Dim 8300? If so, would love to hear comments on how it is running and what you had to do to get it running and keep it running. I tried it awhile ago, but had some problems - Dell recommended reformatting and reinstalling WinXP, which I did. I have Vista on my laptop and it is running fine. I'd encourage you to have a minimum of 2GB RAM and an AGP video card of at least 256mb (though you could probably get by with a 128mb AGP card). From what I recall, Vista had almost all of the device drivers native/built-in. Your mileage may vary. -Stew |
