From: DaGunster_ on 18 Jun 2008 16:24 I have a program I wrote several years ago in Director 8.5. My problem was 'user controls' - edit boxes, lists, trees, etc. I was about to re-write this thing in VB.Net when I heard wind of Director 11. I downloaded the trial, but I got busy on another programming project. When I went back, the trial expired. Would someone give their feedback about the use and capability of the data controls with Director 11.
From: Dave C on 18 Jun 2008 16:56 Director 11 still does not provide basic OS-level interface controls. Even worse, what was probably the best Xtra for providing native controls (OSControl Xtra by PiMZ) will not be updated to support D11. Very bad decision by Adobe if you ask me. From: pvansch on 18 Jun 2008 22:07 The lack of native OS controls on Director has been a pain. I have in the past used a framework developed by luke at medialight http://www.lingoworkshop.com/Codelib/OSW/Downloads.php Not sure if he plans on updating it but you could always drop him a email.
