From: Rob Dillon *TMM* on 21 Oct 2005 08:27 If you look on the web it seems as though Flash is the tool of preference for game development. You can build games with either. Looking through Gary Rozensweig's game development books for both Flash and Director, you can see the similarities and differences in developing on each platform. Director can do anything that you want it to. Just think of it as an adult-sized interactive media tool. Since your interest is in design, you probably want to look at how either of these tools works with the type of design work that you do and the media that you work in. Flash is good with vectors and still pretty poor with raster images and digital video. Director is good with raster and digital video and can play Flash files. If you are primarily interested in working on the web, then Flash is the tool of choice. -- Rob _______ Rob Dillon Team Macromedia http://www.ddg-designs.com 412-243-9119 http://www.macromedia.com/software/trial/ |
