From: Scott on 22 Sep 2005 14:37 Desperately trying to connect a laptop (XP Pro) to a desktop (also XP Pro). Running Network Setup wizard on laptop throws up the message that my Xircom Ethernet II 10/100 card is disconnected - but it's not. It's docked in the side of the laptop and when I check the card's functionality on the laptop, it says it's working normally. I've got the laptop connected to a router modem via the Xircom NIC and a piece of Cat5 and there's no activity on the router at all. Could my NIC be bust, or I am missing out something mega obvious?
