From: Rentian Xiong on 21 Feb 2005 00:26 I installed redhat Linux 8 on my Dell PowerEdge 400SC. I have two hard drives in this computer. Drive C was used for WinXP. I installed linux on drive D. After installation, when system restarts, it gave the error "Diskette drive 0 seek failure". I can't even start my previous winxp anymore. Can anybody tell me what this means? And what should I do to solve this problem? Thanks a lot! Rentian

From: Rentian Xiong on 21 Feb 2005 11:17 Thanks for the reply. After one night, "Diskette drive 0 seek failure" does not appear anymore. But I still can't start linux. The whole screen only displays "L". What is the problem now? Thanks!! From: Rentian Xiong on 21 Feb 2005 13:12 Thanks a lot! That link gave me some idea what is going on inside. My situation is that I have two hard disks. The first disk is for winxp. I installed redhat on the second disk. My BIOS does not support boot from the second hard disk. But my \boot partition is on the second disk. Do you think it's that caused problem??
