From: TaliesinSoft on 14 Jul 2008 08:57 Is there a way to display the date of the most recent update of a website. I use Safari and would preferably like such a display to be automatic. Many thanks in advance for solutions, etc. -- James Leo Ryan ..... Austin, Texas ..... taliesinsoft(a)mac.com

Due to Google's refusal to prevent spammers from posting messages through their servers, I often ignore posts from Google Groups. Use a real news client if you want me to see your posts. JR

You can also see the headers in the terminal via curl: curl -I YOURURL As far as I can see, you can't get this information from Safari -- which seems strange.

What I want to know is the date and time that a website was posted. Since my opening posting in this thread I have learned that the Cmd-I in FireFox will give me the information wanted, but an equivalent is not available in Safari. That thanks to William Mitchell's response in this thread. -- James Leo Ryan ..... Austin, Texas ..... taliesinsoft(a)mac.com

Unfortunately I apparently spoke too soon. I tested FireFox on a number of different sites and the "modified" time was always right now! What I want is to know when the site was posted, not when I accessed it. -- James Leo Ryan ..... Austin, Texas ..... taliesinsoft(a)mac.com |
