From: Joe on 23 Dec 2007 09:47 Hi, what scanner do you guys recommend for scanning several thousand postcard type cards (cardstock)? Resulting quality should be such that photodetail as well as pencil scribles are reasonably discernible. The second purpose is to use the scanner for scanning all relevant documents (correspondence etc.) involved in running a bussiness, tax records, private documents. ADF would be nice because of the sheer number of cards/documents. It would be quite nice if the combination scanner/software has the option of easy (manually) naming the documents - i.e. in a popup box - so they can easily be identified. Such naming will (probably) be in the form of "phonebill 20071205" or "postcard Jane 20071201". If the name already exists, a number could be added or a warning should be given. Some scanning will be multipage to 1 file (like phone bills), most scanning will be 1 page = 1 file (the cards). I am thinking for example about the Canon DR-2580C, several of the Fujitsu scanners, Kodak. What are your experiences and/or recommendations? I do use Vuescan at the moment for some "casual" scanning but that does not appear to support some of the scanners which I believe could be used for the task at hand. So in short: Looking for the "right" scanner with the "right" software... Thanks and merry Christmas to all! |
